Floods and high groundwater have pushed sewage systems in Winterbourne St Martin to their capacity.

Sewage is discharging along Burnside according to the Environment agency.

They've issues warnings about more floods in the South Winterbourne Valley with high groundwater levels.

They're asking residents to take immediate action and activate pumps (if you've got them) to prevent an inundation of groundwater in basements and cellars.

An Environment Agency spokesperson said:

"If you notice any drainage issues contact your local water company.

"After some further rainfall at the start of the weekend, the next few days are forecast to be dry but we still anticipate groundwater levels to continue to rise.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update this message 29th November or as the situation changes."
