Weymouth Pavilion to be lit up 'green'

In a show of support for the NSPCC's 'Light for Every Childhood' Christmas campaign, Weymouth Pavilion will be lighting up green during December.

The campaign is raising awareness of the nature and scale of abuse and neglect, shining a light on those children for whom Christmas may not be such a joyful time.

The iconic landmark is set to provide a visionary delight for passers-by, as the children's charity encourages Dorset residents to 'Get Your Sparkle On' and get involved in the charity's festive fundraiser that forms part of its Christmas campaign.

Also illuminating in the charity's trademark colour will be Weymouth Pavilion between December 13 - 18.

Amy Robinson, Marketing Assistant at Weymouth Pavilion said:

"We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC in raising awareness of child neglect."

"Our lights are a community talking-point in Weymouth so this is a fantastic way of getting people talking about child neglect over Christmas."

Fundraising Manager for the NSPCC in Dorset, Caroline Morgan, said:

"We are absolutely thrilled that Weymouth Pavilion will be turning green this month.

"They will no doubt be an impressive site for residents and visitors to the area, and we are extremely grateful for the support they have given this important campaign that will raise awareness of those children who may be going through the toughest of times."

Get Your Sparkle On 2

The charity is calling on people across the county to 'Get Your Sparkle On', to add some sparkle to their Christmas celebrations, whether wearing sparkly accessories, baking, or crafting sparkly goodies, to fundraise for the charity.
