Largest ever Royal Navy ship stops in Weymouth

HMS Queen Elizabeth - the largest ship ever made for the Royal Navy - is currently in Weymouth Bay.

A spokesperson for the Portsmouth Naval Base said that the British aircraft carrier is making her way back to Portsmouth from the US.

She had been working with a Norwegian warship on a training exercise and is expected back in Portsmouth tomorrow morning.

Part of the 845 Naval Air squadron will disembark here to return to their Yeovilton air base.

The £3.1 billion aircraft carrier is expected to deploy on operations for the for the first time in 2021.
