Boris Johnson is on course for a thumping victory in the general election. Here's how Dorset decided to vote.

South and West Dorset remains true blue this morning.

In West Dorset, Chris Loder has been voted in as the new Conservative MP.

The result there was:

  • Conservative 33,589
  • Green 2,124
  • Labour 5,729
  • Liberal Democrat 19,483

Richard Drax remains the Conservative MP for South Dorset.

He held the seat by a majority of 17,153.

The results were:

  • Conservative 30,024
  • Green 2,246
  • Independent 485
  • Labour 12,871
  • Liberal Democrat 5,432

Turn out was DOWN in South and West Dorset compared to the 2017 General Election.

Turn out this year for West Dorset was 74.7% that's compared with 75.6% in 2017.

In South Dorset turn out was 69.4% compared to 71.9% in 2017.
