Dorset Council has set up the Care and Support Good Practice Awards to recognise hard work in the sector.

They are looking for nominations from people receiving care and support, their families and friends, colleagues, and employers.

The quarterly Good Practice Award also aims to highlight the opportunities of working in caring and support roles.

Mathew Kendall, Executive Director for Adult Social Care at Dorset Council said:

"Dorset Council provides support and care to over 4,000 vulnerable residents across the county. To do this successfully and safely, we rely totally upon the dedication of care and support workers.

"The work can carry challenges, such as supporting someone at the end of their life, and the role often goes without the recognition it deserves."

If you know of a care or support worker that goes that extra mile then you can nominate them here.
