A former Bridport pub could be converted into a guest house.

That's if planning permission is agreed.

The King Charles Tavern in St Andrews Road stopped trading almost four years ago and had been on the market for eight year.

It had previously been known as the Railway Terminus.

The application for the change of use has been submitted to Dorset Council by Mrs Stephanie Briggs of South Street, Bridport with a decision expected to be made by a planning officer.

The pub’s previous letting rooms would be used for the business together with a self-contained annexe to the rear of the building.

Comments on the application remain open until January 31st.
