More changes planned for the William Henry in Weymouth

Listed building consent has been applied for a number of changes at the Wetherspoon William Henry pub in Weymouth.

Planning consent has already been granted for a refurbishment of the building, including new summer opening windows, but the company now needs listed building agreement for some of the work to continue in the basement area where it wants to create two rooms for staff.

The consent is needed because the Frederick Place building is grade 2 listed for its architectural, or historic, importance.

Other changes, already approved, include removing the existing lower bar and replacing it with seating and installing a second short staircase to access the main bar area.

The existing accessible lift for people with mobility limitations will also be upgraded as part of the works and additional air conditioning installed.
