A man's been arrested for drug offences in Weymouth.

He was detained yesterday (Tuesday 21st January) after being searched by police who say he was visiting the area from Liverpool.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and failing to appear in court for charges surrounding the supply of drugs.

A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

"County Lines isn't always about taking over a vulnerable address.

They sometimes use hotel rooms and will get a local drug user to sell the drugs for them.

"They will often book the hotel at short notice. They will pay in cash. They generally won't have an overnight bag and they will more than likely have two phones."

Anyone with information regarding the supply of drugs is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101.
