Ducks fired at with catapult in Dorchester

Police in Dorchester say they're investigating an incident of animal cruelty.

The incident happened at around 12pm on Sunday (26 January).

A group of young people were seen behaving suspiciously by the river near to Lubbecke Way.

One of the group was attempting to hit some ducks on the other side of the river using a catapult.

'Description'

  • The man is described as white and aged between 18 and 25 years old.
  • He was wearing a black Puffa-style jacket, black hoodie and black jeans.

The other members of the group did not join in.

Police say the woman who witnessed the incident called out to ask the man to stop, at which point the group walked away.

None of the ducks were injured.
