Helicopter search for stolen vehicle on A35

A police helicopter hunted for a vehicle stolen from an address in Bridport.

On Wednesday 29th of January 2020 at 8:51pm, police attempted to stop the driver of a silver Mitsubishi pick-up on the A35 Puddletown Bypass.

The vehicle was seen driving erratically.

It was reported that the car was seen travelling down the A31 into Wimborne.

An NPAS police helicopter searched for the vehicle and it was located in New Borough,  but the driver had left the vehicle. 

A Dorset Police spokesperson said:

"Further searches were carried out in an attempt to locate the driver but at this stage they have not yet been identified and inquiries are ongoing.

"It has been established that the vehicle was reported as stolen from an address in Bridport."
