New no waiting zones planned for three roads in Dorchester

Vehicles could be stopped from waiting at any time on sections of three roads in Dorchester.

Traffic orders are currently being advertised by Dorset Council for sections of South Walks Road and on Mellstock Avenue and Weatherbury Way, both on the Manor Park Estate.

'Reasons for traffic orders' 

Dorset Council use traffic orders for:

  • Avoiding danger to persons or other traffic using the roads, or any other road,and for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
  • Facilitating the passage on the road, or any other road, of any class of traffic(including foot passengers) or of vehicles.
  • Preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs.

Copies of the proposed orders can be seen at County Hall or online.

Responses to the proposals have to be submitted by February 14th.
