Bridport Town Council want your views on their plans at the 2020 Bridport Community Fair.

The Town Council's appearing at today's community fair to get your views on their five year plan.

It's the launch of an eight-week consultation on their key objectives and actions up to 2024, which were agreed by councillors in late 2019 - subject to the public consultation.

Town Clerk, Will Austin said:

"This is a great opportunity to support and find out more about the groups that help our community in so many different ways; without them, Bridport and West Bay would not be such wonderful places."

Bridport Town Council's presence will focus on its recently published corporate plan, setting out the key objectives and actions up to 2024. The plan was agreed by councillors in late 2019, subject to public consultation.

The strategy includes ways to help to build a sustainable local economy for the town, supporting older, vulnerable and less advantaged people, safeguarding heritage assets and using innovation, technology and new ways of working to improve value for money and efficiency in Council services.

Bridport Area Neighbourhood Plan Referendum

The Community fair will also see promotion of the forthcoming referendum on the Bridport Area Neighbourhood Plan.

It's setting out local planning policies for the Bridport Area and will have full legal force alongside the Local Plan if approved by a vote on 27th February 2020.

The Community Fair showcases the work of a host of local organisations. It's held at Bridport town hall and runs from 9am-2pm.

It's a chance to find out about the work of more than 20 groups, including Bridport Carnival, Bridport Co-Housing, Bridport Heritage forum and Dorset Wildlife Trust.
