Cyclist's neck injured in Weymouth collision

A 70 year old cyclist's got neck injuries after a Volvo S40 and bicycle were involved in a collision in Weymouth this morning.

Dorset Police were called at 10:54am today (5th February 2020) to reports of a collision involving a car and a bicycle on Shrubbery Lane in Weymouth.

Officers attended the scene, along with the ambulance service. 

The cyclist – a man aged in his 70s and from Portland – sustained an injury to his neck and was taken to hospital for treatment. The injury is not described as serious.

The driver of the Volvo was uninjured.

Police Constable Tim Gooding, of the traffic unit, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.

“I am also really keen to hear from any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have relevant dashcam footage to assist my investigation.”
