The A35 near Dorchester is partially blocked.

Its due to a fallen tree at Monkey's Jump Roundabout.

Traffic is said to be coping well.




Flood Alert issued for between Dorchester and Wareham.

River levels have risen at the Stinsford river gauge as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to rainfall from Storm Ciara.

Flooding of roads and farmland between Dorchester and Wareham is possible on the Frome and it's tributaries. 


Wool Level Crossing UPDATE:

There is queuing traffic on the A352 both ways due to the railway barrier failing.

There's also congestion around Woolbridge Roundabout.

We've had a call to tell us that the gates on the level crossing are down, and have been down for about 20 minutes.



Strong winds yesterday caused problems for one of the buildings at Dorset County Hospital. 

Fire crews from Dorchester were called to attend.

Weymouth Lifeboat have released footage of what happened when they were caught up in Storm Ciara, while on a training exercise at sea, yesterday morning.


A flood alert's been issued by the Environment Agency for the Upper from and tributaries.

Flooding is possible between Toller Whelme and Dorchester.

Property flooding is not expected, but drivers should take care as roads are likely to be flooded in places.

Westlease both ways partially blocked.  Slow traffic due to fallen tree from B3147 The Grove leading to Frome, next to the Sun Inn Pub.

Milborne St Andrew

A354 The Square Eastbound partially blocked due to fallen tree near Milton Road, just after the Royal Oak.  Affecting traffic heading from the A35 towards Blandford Forum.

Sandford and Holton Heath

Traffic busy on A351 between A35 (Bakers Arms roundabout
Lytchett Minster) and Wareham.  Travel time is eight minutes.



A35 Eastbound busy but moving before A37 / B3150 (Monkeys Jump Roundabout).


A useful reminder if you're commuting by train tomorrow morning ...


Here's the latest on the roads at 17:50 ...


  1. A352 both ways blocked in Winterborne Came.  Heavy traffic due to fallen tree leading to Whitcombe.  
  2. Sandford And Holton Heath.  Heavy traffic on A351 between A35 (Bakers Arms roundabout & Lytchett Minster) and Wareham.  Travel time is nine minutes
  3. Traffic slow on Weymouth Relief Road heading towards Dorchester from the Jurassic Roundabout to the Football Ground Roundabout.
  4. A354 in Milborne St Andrew partially blocked at The Square Eastbound due to fallen tree near Milton Road.  Just after the Royal Oak, affecting traffic heading from the A35 towards Blandford Forum.
  5. Westlease in Charminster is partially blocked both ways due to two fallen trees from B3147 The Grove to Leading to Frome Whitfield, close to the Sun Inn Pub.

There are still around sixty homes without power in the Bridport area.

Western Power estimate everyone should be reconnected by 9:30pm at the latest.

Good news if you are A37 bound...


This really is sheer stupidity.  Don't put your life at risk for the sake of a photo!


They couldn't get the Premier League game at Manchester City on due to Storm Ciara, but they did brave the wind and rain just across the Pennines in Sheffield ... sadly the Cherries couldn't make it three wins in a row, losing 2-1.

This time on the A354 at Milborne St Andrew, the road is partially blocked near the Royal Oak.
