Bridport Farmer's market will no longer be taking place at Bridport Arts Centre.

The area used by around 30 stall holders inside Bridport Arts Centre is to be used as seating for a new cafe/restaurant.

Secretary of Dorset Farmers Market Prue Holland told Wessex FM:

"It's all about shop small and support local traders.

"It's a great place to come on a Saturday morning.

"It takes a long time, many years, to build up a good core of regular customers and for people to know where you are so it's a really big blow.

"It would be a big blow to Bridport to lose the Farmer's Market and the Town Council and Chamber of Commerce have been very sympathetic and supportive."

The last Farmer's Market at Bridport Arts Centre  will take place Saturday 14th March 9-1pm.
