'Why do we raise the Commonwealth Flag?'

Public gatherings to raise the Commonwealth flag on Commonwealth Day have become well established as an annual demonstration of Commonwealth connection.

More than 850 other Commonwealth Flags will be raised in 53 member states of the Commonwealth.

The theme for 2020 is 'Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming'.

A specially written Commonwealth Affirmation will be read out at each ceremony before the raising of the Commonwealth Flag.
