Wareham Surgery has been temporarily closed after 'concerns' about a suspected case of coronavirus.

The surgery says it's taking a precautionary measure because of 'concerns' about a suspected case of the virus.

A spokesperson for Wareham Surgery said:

“An individual who has been identified as a possible Covid-19 case has recently attended Wareham Surgery.

“To protect other patients and members of the public, in line with Public Health England (PHE) guidance, the surgery closed for cleaning to remove any potential risk for patients.

“Once the cleaning is complete, the practice will reopen and we anticipate we will be able to open as usual today. Patients and staff can be reassured that their safety is the top priority, and patients are encouraged to attend all appointments as usual.

“Call 111 if you need help or advice.”

Further updates will be made available via the Wareham Surgery Facebook page and website.

The website also says that online booking is unavailable during the coronavirus outbreak. Instead they're asking patients to use eConsult to access services.
