Update on three coronavirus patients in Dorset

Dorset council update on three COVID-19 patients in the county.

All three patients, who are residents in the BCP council area, are 'well and self-isolating at home' according to Dorset Council.

Public Health England say they've been in contact with all those who had close contact with the confirmed cases of COVID-19.

They say if you've not bee contacted by Public Health England as a close contact of a confirmed case, you don't need to take any action.

Dorset Council have now set up a 'multi-agency co-ordination group' which brings together council, public health, NHS and other public service groups.

It comes a day after the government announced it's entered its 'delay' phase of the pandemic.

That means they're now focusing less on containing and preventing the outbreak, and focusing more on delaying the peak number of cases.

Current advice from the NHS is to:

  • Stay at home for 7 days if you have either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough.
  • wash your hands with soap and water often - do this for at least 20 seconds
  • do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
