The chosen charity this year is Dorset-based Margaret Green Animal Rescue.

Race director Mark Caswell says there's a reason so many people come out for the run:

"It's the course, it's relatively flat and it's scenic and it does tick a lot of boxes.

"It is a very enjoyable run. On a good day, we get a good turn out."

Margaret Green Animal Rescue say they are delighted to be the chosen charity.

A spokesman told Wessex FM:

"With £1 from every entry coming to the charity along with hopefully lots of sponsorship the money raised really will help make a difference to the animals cared for at our rescue centers.

"Animals like Fred and Barney, the Saanen Goats and Mickey and Donald the Shetland Ponies, as well as the many cats and dogs that come into rescue.

"Fundraising from events like this is so important to the charity and goes a long way to helping pay for things like food, bedding, medication and enrichment and so to be selected is wonderful."
