The supermarket says it has seen an "unprecedented demand" across its range.

Aldi, which has stores off Jubilee Close and Link Park in Weymouth, explains the move has been taken to "ensure all of our customers have a chance to purchase them."

It has thanked customers for their patience and says its working hard to "rise to the challenge" the Covid-19 outbreak is presenting across the country.

The company says its working hard to restock and replenish shelves as quickly as possible.

PLEA TO CUSTOMERS:

In a joint letter with other major supermarkets posted on the Aldi Facebook page the store has pleaded with customers to act sensibly.

"We would ask everyone to be considerate in the way they shop. We understand your concerns but buying more than is needed can sometimes mean that others will be left without. There is enough for everyone if we all work together.

"Together we can make sure we are looking out for family, friends, neighbours. Together we will care for those around us and those who are elderly, vulnerable or choosing to remain at home."
