Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales has dropped anchor in Weymouth Bay.

You might have spotted it hovering on the horizon while driving along the A354 - the HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier is one of the most powerful surface warships ever constructed in the UK.

At 280 meters in length she can carry 36 F-35B jets and four Merlin helicopters.

She has 700 crew members with a capacity for 1,600 with aircracraft on board - and she holds 45 days' worth of food in stores.
