Budmouth College has announced partial closures of the school today (19th March) and tomorrow (20th March) due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Classes will not be running for students in years 9, 10 and 12.

It's due to an increasing number of staff having to go into self-isolation and government guidance says the use of external teachers is no longer permitted.

Students will be expected to work from home using Google Classroom to access online teaching material.

Thank you very much for the very kind messages of support and best wishes to our staff and students who are having to...

Children who are eligible for free school meals will still be welcome to come to school for a meal.

The school said in a statement:

"Students affected by the partial closure will be expected to work from home and will use Google Classroom to access resources and instructions.

"Staff and students are fully trained in using this new platform and as a consequence disruption to lesson plans will be minimised.

"Children who are eligible for free school meals and are in these year groups are all still welcome to come into school where their lunch will be available.

"They do not need to wear their uniform, need to arrive by 1.20pm and will leave the site after lunch."
