Further changes at Sainsbury's to help NHS and elderly customers

The supermarket's bringing in more priority shopping times throughout the week.

Sainsbury's, including the Weymouth store on Mercery Road, are setting up early opening times, especially for NHS and social care workers who are on the frontline of the Covid-19 situation.

That will be in place between 7.30 and 8.00am Monday to Saturday, for anyone with an NHS ID.

There'll also be the priority shopping times for elderly and vulnerable customers between 8.00 and 9.00am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

DELIVERY SLOTS FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED CUSTOMERS

Sainsbury's say they're trying to set up priority online order slots for those vulnerable customers during the coronavirus outbreak.

They'll be identifying those from the data they already have on things like customers' dates of birth, or if they've used the vulnerable customer helpline in the past.

Details will be sent out to those eligible people later today (Sunday 22nd March).
