The Coastguard is asking people who want to get out and about during the coronavirus outbreak.

The advice is being put out to those using Dorset's coastline for a bit of fresh air.

We're being reminded to avoid busy areas to maintain the social distancing guidelines from the Government.

They've also suggested things like:

  • Stick to proper paths
  • Wear sturdy shoes or boots and appropriate clothing
  • Carry a fully-charged mobile
  • Please keep your family and pets safe
  • If you see anyone in trouble, call the Coastguard on 999

The service has also said that they're 'reviewing their work and capabilities on a daily basis' due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This also follows news that the National Trust is closing many of its sites to improve social distancing and encourage people to stay at home.
