Two thousand jobs could be at risk across the country as Carluccio's files for administration.

The restaurant chain, which has an outlet in Dorchester, is one of thousands of food outlets forced to close their doors because of the coronavirus pandemic.

It's understood there are plans to use the Government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme meaning staff would be temporarily laid off but could still be paid some of their wages.

The company started in 1991 in Neal Street, London. In 1999 they opened the first Carluccio’s Caffè in Market Place.

73 restaurants across the UK and Ireland could be affected.
