NHS England announce five further patients died after testing positive for COVID-19 at hospitals in Dorset.

Three of the deaths were at Dorset Healthcare University Trust, one was at Poole Hospital, and another was at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals.

The total number of deaths in the county is now at 117.

NHS England announced a further 552 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have died in hospitals in England, bringing the total to 19,301.

Patients were aged between 31 and 99 years old. 38 of the 552 patients (aged between 36 and 99 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Today, NHS England announced a change in the way they record the data.

They'll now include deaths where there has not been a positive test for COVID-19, but it's documented as a direct or underlying cause on the patients death certificate.

Of the 552 deaths reported today, 6 are reported with no positive COVID-19 test result.
