Further coronavirus deaths in Dorset hospitals

NHS England has announced further deaths in Dorset's hospitals.

Three more patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

The NHS has now reported a total of 137 deaths in Dorset, although the last death at Dorset County Hospital was over two weeks ago.

Two of the deaths were recorded at Poole Hospital, one of them was at Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals.

Office for National Statistics data shows 101 deaths in Dorset's care homes have been provisionally attributed to COVID-19.

That brings the total number of recorded deaths in the county up to 238.

Nationally, NHS England has announced a further 383 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 22,432.

An NHS England spokesperson said:

"Patients were aged between 28 and 100 years old.  41 of the 383 patients (aged between 28 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition."
