An historic Weymouth landmark turned red, white and blue at the weekend.

The Nothe Fort was lit up to mark the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.

10,000 people watched a live stream of the event on 'Loving Weymouth & Portland.'

James Farquahason, Chair of Nothe Fort said:

"We were disappointed to postpone our plans for our 75th VE Day celebrations, including the beacon lighting.

"But we still wanted to do something appropriate to commemorate the day.

"Lighting-Up Nothe Forte in red, white and blue is a perfect tribute within the limitations of the lock-down restrictions.

"We are hoping to be able to move our planned celebrations to the weekend of the 15th & 16th August for the VJ Day celebrations, working with Weymouth Town Council".
