Drawing pins scattered along the Rodwell Trail

Walkers and cyclists are being asked to take care after drawing pins were scattered along the Rodwell Trail in Weymouth.

The section of path affected is between the railway bridge and the bridge by Asda.

Dorset Council has been made aware and is arranging for a street cleaner to attend the scene.

Police are investigating two reports of criminal damage caused to bikes which ended up with punctured tyres.

A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said:

"Please be careful if you are using the trail, especially with dogs or children or if you are cycling."

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the matter.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
