COVID-19: First death at DCH in over a month

Another patient has died after testing positive for COVID-19 at Dorset County Hospital after a month of no deaths related to the virus.

Before then, the last reported death at the hospital was recorded on 22nd April 2020.

It brings the total number of deaths at the hospital up to 24.

No further deaths at hospitals across the county, meaning the total number of deaths in hospitals stands at 146.

NHS England has announced a further 116 patients have died in English hospitals after testing positive for COVID-19. It brings the total up to 25,866.

Patients were aged between 50 and 100 years old.  One of the 116 patients (aged 71) had no known underlying health condition.
