Ambulance windscreen smashed by lorry debris in Weymouth

An Ambulance's windscreen has been smashed by debris that fell from a lorry in Weymouth this morning.

The incident caused minor injuries to members of the ambulance crew.

It happened at 10:25 am today (12th June 2020) when a lorry shed some of its load between the Veasta and Jurassic Roundabouts on the A354.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said:

"The lorry and driver did not stop at the scene and police are keen to make contact. 

"At this stage it is unclear if the driver would have been aware of this incident, and speculation should be avoided."
