Weymouth Sea Life reopens this week

Weymouth Sea Life is reopening it's open spaces again this Thursday.

The outdoor sections of the park will be open again from Thursday 18th June after they were forced to close due to the coronavirus pandemic.

You'll have to book in advance if you want to go though, only a certain number of people will be allowed in the park at any given time.

Social distancing measures will be in place.

It's after new government guidelines that allow zoos, wildlife parks and other attractions to open again.

Some of the park's staff have been working through the lockdown to make sure the animals are kept healthy. Animals have been getting daily vet checks and staff have been working in split teams to reduce contact.

After Thursday the park will be open from 10 am Wednesdays to Sunday.

What will I be able to see?

Only certain parts will be open, but you'll be able to see the otters, seals and Humboldt penguins. You'll also be able to explore the outdoor rockpool.

The Pirate Adventure Golf is open too but you'll also have to pre-book tickets.
