Mainly quiet 'Super Saturday' for Dorset

The control room for Dorset Police recorded 525 incidents on July 4th - the day social distancing rules were relaxed and pubs were allowed to reopen.

Patrols were out across the area, with no major issues.

Weymouth and Portland Police say they visited a number of licenced premises throughout the day, working closing with the Licencing Teams with two men arrested in the town during the afternoon in separate incidents.

One of the men was arrested for a Public Order offence, the other for being Drunk and Disorderly.

They both remain in police custody.
