Sofas and other items have been dumped outside Weldmar Hospicecare's outlet in Dorchester.

Weldmar Hospicecare is asking people to stick to their designated delivery hours if they have items to donate after the items were dumped at the charity's outlet on the Marabout Trading Estate.

There are two days a week set aside for donations, which allow items to be quarantined for 72 hours before handling.

Gavin Anderson-Terry is Director of Retail at Weldmar. He said:

"Fly tipping like this takes resources away from where they are needed, and costs money to clear and dispose of - money that should be going towards the end of life care that we provide in Dorset.

"We would urge anyone who has kindly put items aside to donate to Weldmar to check our website for the arrangements at their local shop, and not to leave them outside, because we can't take them in."
