Police target speeders on Bridport coast road

35 offences, mainly for speeding have been recorded during a day of action by Dorset Police on the Bridport coast road.

Officers were monitoring the 50 mph section of the B3157 between Abbotsbury and Bridport.

A motorbike with a pillion passenger was recorded overtaking at 92 mph. The rider was reported to court.

A Renault Sport was recorded at 83mph. Police say there were three passengers in the vehicle and one immediately questioned why they had been stopped. The driver who had only picked the car up last week has been reported to court.

A Vauxhall Astra was recorded at 70mph, the driver of which already had 9 points on his licence. 

Another motorbike was recorded at 91mph, but failed to stop and an investigation is on going.

A Vauxhall Zafira was also seized for no insurance and a father and son were stopped on their bikes being recorded at 75 & 63 mph.
