Dorset ex-marine walking entire UK coast for charity

An ex-marine from Dorset's walking the entire UK coast path in aid of veterans mental health.

Paul Harris arrived in Weymouth yesterday, having set off from Poole this week.

He's already raised £2,165 for veterans charity Rock 2 Recovery only 3 days after he set off on the 10,000+ mile trip.

Paul said he was inspired to do it while walking around Dorset:

"It was when I was outside in nature and looking at where we live, I thought to myself 'You know what this is such a beautiful place, I want to test myself'

"And I thought 'Well, I'm an ex-marine, we don't do challenges by half' so I thought, 'what can I do? I'm going to walk around the UK."

As of today, he's made it as far as Bridport. He's walking upwards of 20 kilometres a day, sometimes double, with all of the kit he needs for living on his back.

He says lots of people have offered him hotel rooms, food and coffee along the way.
