10 contestants to take on the Dorset Chilli eating competition online.

10 contestants are taking on some of the world's hottest chillies in an online tournament this weekend.

The Great Dorset Chilli Festival has been called off this year due to Coronavirus.

They have joined forces with Dorset Tea to recreate the infamous Chilli eating competition online.

10 people will eat their way through 10 of the hottest chillies, rising in heat as the contest goes on.

Miles Halton, creator of the Great Dorset Chilli festival, said:

"We are so delighted to have joined forces with another fantastic food brand in Dorset.

"It is a great example of collaboration in really testing times.

"It will also allow us to reach a wider audience showing that excellent local festivals, such as these are 'not just for Dorset folk!"

The Dorset Knob Eating competition, also run by Dorset Tea, was streamed to more than 199 million people in May after the Dorset Knob Festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications to join the competition have now closed.

They'll be live-streaming the event from the Dorset Tea facebook page on Sunday at 12:30.
