It is believed the damage occurred between the evening of Saturday 25th July and the morning of Sunday 26th July.

A village resident found the damage early on Sunday morning.

Dog walking signs were also ripped off the gate.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said:

"It is important that if people observe or hear any anti-social behaviour that they report it at the time it is occurring.

"Subject to police resources officers could attend. If due to operational demand officers are not available immediately the area would be noted for future patrols."
