A Dorset village football club is worried about losing local youth teams due to a lack of numbers.

Cerne Abbas Football Club's struggling to get enough kids in the some of the age groups to field full village teams.

Treasurer of the club Graham Snelgrove told us the FA are strict with ages and another problem is that when youngsters go to secondary schools they often leave their village team to play for the town clubs.

Graham Snelgrove also told us he thinks it's a problem in other villages in the area too.

He said that Cerne Abbas have their own facilities that they share with the local cricket club, including a floodlit training area. He told us the cricket and senior sides are getting use of all the facilities but the kids are missing out.

For anyone interested in finding out more they can contact Graham on 01300 341914.
