BREAKING NEWS - X Factor girl group reveal new name!

Rythmix

Published at 7:16pm 26th October 2011. (Updated at 7:33pm 28th October 2011)

There will be a new girl group on the x factor this weekend, ‘Little mix’… it’s after Rythmix were forced to change their name following protests from a Brighton charity that works with disabled and vulnerable children. The 4 girls including Perrie Edwards from Weymouth came up with the name after talking it over with
their mentor Telesa.

Producers say they knew the charity existed, although the band had originally settled on the name without being aware it was used elsewhere.

One of the members of the group is 18 year old Perrie Edwards who used to go to Radipole School.
Her girl group Rythmix have been kept in for another week after performing their version of Salt n Pepper's Push It.

The name ‘Rhythmix’ was trademarked for educational purposes, however the programme-makers said they believed there was no conflict with the band or X Factor.

Chief Executive of Rhythmix Mark Davyd wrote: "We don't buy this media invention of you as Mr Nasty. Your wikipedia entry explains at length your involvement with children's charities, and we commend you for it."

On Wednesday afternoon it was agreed by the X Factor producers to change the groups name.
"At the request of the charity Rhythmix, the members of the girl group Rhythmix have decided to change their name, a decision which has the support of Syco and TalkbackTHAMES.”
