Police in Bridport are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a road traffic collision in Charmouth.

The incident, which resulted in a Volkswagen Golf colliding with a parked Mercedes van and a chain fence, happened along The Street at around 8.55am on Friday 27 January 2012.

No-one was injured as a result of the collision.

Police Constable Sara Mackay, of Bridport police, said: "I understand that a black Suzuki Vitara was travelling west along The Street when it slowed to allow an unknown vehicle to enter the road.

"The VW Golf passed by the Suzuki, crossed the carriageway and collided with the van and the fence, before coming to rest.

"The unknown vehicle, which may have been a red or maroon estate, continued with its journey and the driver may have been unaware of the collision.

"I am appealing for this motorist, and anyone who witnessed this collision, to contact me as soon as possible."
