Could you be an Olympic Torch "Wader"?

9:03am 3rd May 2012

You've heard of the Olympic Torch bearers, now were looking for Olympic Torch waders.

The organisers of a spectacular outdoor show called Battle of the winds are after people from Weymouth and Portland and the surrounding area who don't mind getting their feet wet.

No special skills or experience are needed to be a torch wader - you just need to be willing to stand in the sea on the 28th July - holding a torch!

Battle for the Winds co-artistic director Jon Beedell said: "This really is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - it will create an iconic and potentially record-breaking image that will last forever and celebrate the local community."

Individuals or groups can register to take part by CLICKING HERE.

If you would like to talk to someone about volunteering as a Torch Wader, contact Jon Beedell at jon@desperatemen.com or on 0117 939 3902 / 0117 902 9730.
