Weymouth Family Up For National Award

Toft 1

11:21am 5th May 2012

A Weymouth family who campaigned to make the roads safer for thousands of Dorset children could be named the nation's 'Outstanding Family of the Year'.

Helen and Michael Tofts and their teenage sons, Alastair and Cameron took their fight to save crossing patrols in Dorset, all the way to Westminster.

They saved the jobs of over 60 lollipop people who were facing redundancy.

Helen has told Wessex FM she wasn't going to rest until the decision was overturned saying she believes in fighting injustices in the world.

The Tofts have already been named the 'Campaigning Family of the Year 2012' and are finalists for the overall award- to be announced this month.

They're attending a lavish ceremony at London Zoo.
