A bride-to-be has been left without a wedding venue after a Portland Hotel will make way for the new schools academy.

Shelley Branch, who was to have her wedding at The Venue Hotel in Southwell Business Park in June 2013.

But she's now received an email from the Business Park owner which said:

"Following the accepted funding for the new school academy, the Southwell Business Park owner has terminated the use of the conference and function facilities with six months notice. This is due to the sale of the building to the government to develop the site. I have attempted to re-negotiate, however the builders are being moved on January 1st ready for the opening in September 2013."

People who booked weddings at the hotel have been given six months notice and those who had events booked after that will have their deposits refunded.

Shelley has been told she can move her wedding forward, but she says she had her heart set on the venue.

Builders will be on site at The Venue Hotel in Southwell Business Park in early 2013.
