Show Us A Sign

Weymouth Relief Road

9:43am 15th May 2012

Visitors from Weymouth's twin town in France won't be greeted by a sign recognising the relationship when they arrive in the Borough this month.

The new Relief Road doesn't yet have a sign showing that Weymouth is twinned with Louviers.

The current signage simple says, "Welcome to Weymouth and Portland".

The Weymouth Louviers Society is calling on the County Council to put up a new sign underneath.

But there's been a hitch with that happening due to safety concerns for drivers should there be an accident and they're involved in a collision with it.

The Mayor of Louviers is due to arrive in Weymouth on the 25th May.
