Local Man Found Dead in Weymouth Harbour

Dorset Police has launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in Weymouth.

The discovery was made by a member of the public just after 5.30am this morning (Tuesday 22nd May) along Westwey Road.

The body has been identified as a 26-year-old local man. He is described as white, six feet tall, of slim build and with short dark hair. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

This is not one of the missing fisherman from the 'Purbeck Isle'. Next of kin and the coroner have been notified.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the death.

Anyone who saw a man fitting the description in the early hours of this morning should contact Dorset Police urgently on 101.
