A benevolent fund has been set up for the families of 3 fisherman lost after their boat sank off Portland.
The Purbeck Isle was found at the bottom of the sea by search and rescue teams after it went missing on Thursday.
The Weymouth and Portland Fisherman and Boatman's Association launched a memorial fund in their memory and has been getting donations from all over the country as far as Scotland.
Overwhelming support has meant organisers of the Purbeck Isle appeal have had to register the fund as a charity.
All the monies will go towards trust funds for the lost fisherman's children.
Secretary of the Weymouth and Portland Fisherman and Boatman's Association Andy Allcock helped set it up. He told Wessex FM over 30 local shops, pubs and organisations asked for a collections box in one day alone.
