Parents have been left stunned after a school in Dorchester has suddenly decided to ban open toe sandals.

It's claimed Damers Road First School first made the announcement to pupils on Friday.

The change of policy has come after a child wearing open toe sandals was injured after getting their foot caught in playground equipment.

Wessex FM's been contact by a Mum who has two children at the school.

She doesn't want to be named but here's what she had to say.

The School's headteacher and deputy were unable to comment when contacted by Wessex FM.
