People in Weymouth and Portland are being encouraged to act responsibly during this summer's main events.

Dorset County Council has launched an awareness campaign called "Celebrate Without Drama", focusing on safety and not binge drinking during the Jubilee, Euro 2012 and Olympics.

A new website's been made where you can access all the latest safety information from the local NHS and Pub Watch group.

A radio and poster campaign will also run throughout the summer to raise awareness.

Councillor Ray Nottage, chair of Dorset Community Safety Partnership, said:

"We've got a great summer of celebration ahead of us which we hope will be enjoyed sensibly by all. Unfortunately, it's all too easy for things to get out of hand when people have had too much to drink. This campaign will give people all the information they need about enjoying the summer events without it ending in drama".
