Dorset Charity Backs Police Initiative to Stamp Out Domestic Violence

depression

9:14am 7th June 2012

A charity that helps victims of domestic violence has welcomed a move by Dorset Police to check-up on known offenders during Euro 2012.

Statistics show people are more at risk of becoming a victim of violence in the home during big football tournaments.

The rise is blamed on more people drinking alcohol.

A special unit of Officers will be carrying out bail checks on past offenders during England's games.

Wareham based charity the Safe Partnership say it's a good idea.
